Ahoy! A Pirrrrrrate Party

James turned 5 and Finn turned 3 and a pirate party is what they had to celebrate! Aarrrrrrrrrrr

There was lots of food to fill those pirate bellies and a fountain of pirate punch….

The pirate ship (aka Julies house:))was decorated in a most extravagant pirate manor. Fit for any swashbuckling young pirate men and women….

There was even an experienced pirate on hand to entertain the young buccaneers

My young scallywag enjoyed the festivities with one of the the birthday boys

There was much treasure to be found…

and pirate cake to eat

Shiver me timbers!  A great day was had by all…..Aarrrrrrrrr

Happy Birthday James and Finn!!!!

Creative Flash Workshop

I recently attend a creative flash workshop through Creative Photo Workshops. It was awesome! They really know their stuff. It was held in the gardens of the Abbortsford Convent which makes a beautiful background for photography portraits, in fact one of the best in Melbourne!  We learnt so many different types of ways to use flash from fill flash to off camera flash. This is all stuff i can put into practice and portrait for all the wedding photography in Melbourne we’ll be doing later on in the year.

Here are some workshop photos -

Queen’s Birthday Weekend – Melbourne Family Photographer

We went camping or rather caravanning!

Just the three of us or four if you count our dog Shaggy. We’ve been staying in a lot of caravan parks lately but this time we took the camps book and found some fun spots to pull up the caravan and build a fire in the middle of the bush at a historic site called Whroo near Rushworth. It reminded me a lot of my childhood – the bush, getting dirty and camp fires which used to be an almost every day occurrence when i was young.  We used to ride our bikes up to the orchard at the back of our houses after school for hours, building cubbyholes, sliding down mud hills and sometimes even build camp fires, only coming home when it started to get dark. This doesn’t happen so much for the kids now days with their busy suburban lives so it was fun to watch Rory have a ball in the beautiful Victorian bush. We spent hours riding through the  bush where we saw Kangaroos, Koalas and even a wombat (but unfortunately i didnt get a photo of any!) plus historic sites of the old gold rush days.

It was a fun, relaxing long weekend and i cant wait to do it again! I wish the queen had a birthday every weekend!

Heres some happy snaps!

This is what she does now when i ask her to pose….she is so cheeky! She thinks she is hysterical.

I was feeling really good about being out bush in the winter because i didnt have to worry about snakes. Then i saw these……….

And Shaggy or as he is now known by Rory – Bullseye!

Ivy & Her Children ~ Melbourne Family Photographer

This is Ivy! You might remember her from these blog post ——>  This one and also This one

This time around Ivy wanted head shots for her amazing Graphic Design Business Jump Cactus Design who you can also find on here on facebook

Isnt she stunning! I love photographing Ivy. Her skin is like silk. Hard to believe she is the busy Mother of 3 who also runs a successful graphic design business when she looks that good isnt it!

Ivy also wanted some images of her adorable boys for her website. Max and Henrick were such serious little men this day but so very very cute!

They have the most divine bedrooms. How amazing is this wall art!

We had some fun with some balloons, the boys were so cute hanging on for dear life in case they flew away. The magic of childhood – the greatest worry is a lost balloon. I love it!

and we cant forget Mali! The sweetest of them all. Hard to believe she is six months already.
