The story of……a night away…

Whats this about? Well remember last time when i did the story of my sisters family and was in a blog ring with some amazing photographers? Well its that time of the month again!

Ever see a photographer who starts out with a 365 day project, or even a 52 week project and never finishes? Yeah, me too. Well, I recently joined a group of a few other busy photographers who decided to commit to a 12 month project! If we fail this, we’ll be taking donations for a time management seminar. The best part is that it will be totally candid, lifestyle shots of each of our own families/lives. We don’t even have to dredge up random people or make our kids pose for us. We’re calling the series “The Story of ________” and we’ll each be filling in our own blanks. At the end of this post is a link to another photographer who participated and she’ll be linking to someone else. It’s a whole big circle of stories in pictures. So just click through – its fun!

This month I’m doing ‘The story of our night away’. My Mum rang me a month or so ago and asked if Rory could stay the night at her house. Who’d say no to that right? Usually when Rory spends the night at Mums its because we have something on like a wedding or an event so we are hanging around with our lovely friends which of course is awesome but its a rarity post kids to just spend some one on one time alone. It was nice!  We decided to head to a small country town to spend the night away.

The following images were taken on my D60. Gosh i love that camera. I always use the Tamron 17-50 on it and i think its amazing for taking snapshots of our life. I use it all the time! I also snuck some iphone pics in there at the end.

It rained and it rained and it rains..but that was nice too

So we played cards – I won of course!

What a lovely place! Great shots! Are those birds guineas? Our neighbors have some that look similar. Glad you got a night away!
